This was the second best burger I've had in my life (1st being the Ferg) and I have travelled the world looking for the best of the best. The beef and bacon burger was epic - the homemade beef Pattie and beetroot relish gave the burger a real X factor, will be back every week from now on.

Had 'Da Bomb' burger, easily one of the best burgers i have ever had. Mother of god it was beautiful. Flavour of peace and prosperity! It was like darude sandstorm playing on my tastebuds...also the patty was also out of this world. The best burger in christchurch by farrrr, and the value for money is next level! Highly reccommend!

Hmmm... Pretty good actually. I had the fatty, which is a nice vege burger with eggplant and pineapple. Clean, fresh, tasty burger. Not greasy or too much. Now, I'm a hungry girl so I'd get chips too next time, especially if you haven't had lunch or tea! 🤣 I inhaled my burger and I could have done more! Yummy... Give it a go A+

I’ve been hearing rumours of a place doing “really good burgers” in Brighton, I finally made it in to see what all the fuss is about. I wasn’t disappointed. Our small gang rocked up and immediately appreciated the vibe, well branded, very burger jointy. Funky tunes, plywood fixtures and little burgers etched into the tables. Cool. After some hard decision making we made our orders and with some impressive speed our food came out promptly. I ordered the the Hawaiian laden burger, with added onion rings… it was big, had big taste, it was bloody good actually! Everything was fresh and seemingly of good quality. Maybe I just ordered well, the rest of the team didn’t reach my levels of enthusiastic. The chicken burger I believe was well appreciated, the pulled-pork loaded fries fell flat for Claire and The Fatty burger left Caroline with feelings of regret, “I should have ordered that Smokey burger!” She told us. I did nibble some of the pulled-pork fries, and liked it, but admittedly it lacked a certain balance — some fresh, diced herbs or tangy pickles might have picked it up, just my opinion. If you’re a fan of American style cuisine, big burgers, bigger flavours, try it out.

Burger joint is an amazing venue, with a great atmosphere and vibe. The staff are always friendly and very welcoming. The service is always of a really high quality. They definitely understand the concept of ‘good old-fashioned hospitality’. The burgers are top quality, and if you enjoy beer you won’t be disappointed by the southpaw range. An honest review from a regular who’s only a regular because of all the above points already noted. Highly recommend.

We made our way to the Burger Joint line of by accident because our initial lunch plans fell through. We immediately liked the friendly outdoor area and kind waitstaff. We’re not the easiest of customers, with two children under five who had been out swimming for the past couple of hours. They accommodated our weird requests (fried egg on a plate) without even a sideways glance. The Burgers were heavenly. My husband and I both had the fried chicken burger, as we are usually cautious of a new burger joint.. we did not need to worry. Perfectly crafted and well sauced. My son loved his smiley face inside his burger. We also couldn’t get over the onion rings. They rivalled the glory of American onion rings and took us back to the past when we could travel. We also rated their decor, toy fridge and ongoing friendly customer service. Thanks!

Great spot to go and have delicious food and drinks for a chill night out. The variety on the menu is great and always enjoy in-house dining especially being able to grab out board games to play either on date or with family and friends. Staff are always wonderful and offer their opinions on what their favourites may be. Sometimes the atmosphere upstairs is too stuffy and loud due to the echos you can get but still really great place.

I came in with my girlfriend and mother after swimming at the beach just near to our surprise 20 minutes before closing. Instead of rushing us the staff had conversations with us and encouraged us to take our time all were very friendly. For the food we ordered 2 burgers an a cheeseburger loaded fries and they were amazing. Great way to end the night. Would highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

Easily the best community based restaurant in New Brighton (sorry others), but I'm proud to live here knowing I don't have to drive far for decent feed. Owners are very passionate about their impact to the region. Tops.

Kimchi loaded fries were amazing. Hawaiian burger was just as good, definitely one of the best burger spots in Christchurch

The staff here are without fail, the friendliest people in Christchurch. For that alone, it's worth supporting these guys – the main reason for my four star rating. Watch out because the images of the menu online are old and the prices are well out-of-date. Some items literally twice the price now. And the prices are pretty high for what you get – I'd say overall it's not better value than BurgerFuel, for example. The burgers and sides here can be really good but in my experience are quite inconsistent. I've had chips that were boxes of 100% crunchy shrapnel and I've had loaded boxes of perfectly cooked chips. I've had chicken burgers with chewy, thin pieces of overcooked chicken and I've had burgers with huge, fat, moist and perfectly cooked chicken. I'm not sure when the best time to go is, but we're not put off from ordering again. It's located in a cool spot with a good selection of local Southpaw craft beer on tap, and a nice upstairs area to hang out in. Since we have two young girls, we have not stayed to eat yet but I'm keen to do that come Summer.
