Delicious pizza and great service. Fun to watch the pizzas being prepared and cooked in the wood-fired oven too :-)
Great service and variety of pizza!! I haven't had any problems with the orders, always receiving the pizzas in a reasonable time frame. I'd recommend ordering the Pollo and Mougy pizzas, which are my favorite.
We are new to Wellington so for our second pizza delivery wanted to try something different to the well know chain - searched for “wood fire pizza delivery Wellington” and came across Pomodoro. Good menu choice although short but everyone could find something to order (2 adults + 2 kids). There was no option to add additional ingredients to a margherita but we asked for extra olives and we got them!
It arrived in 40 min as stated on the app but unfortunately pizzas were on a cold side ... Kids didn’t mind but I prefer them hot (as reasonably possible with a delivery).
They didn’t provide us with a menu for next time - strange as we were “new” customers.
But all in all good and will order from them again.
Absolutely delicious & reasonably priced. ordered a couple pizzas for lunch today online and got the Margherita for $10 (online deal) and a Contadina. Definitely recommend trying if you want a change from Tommy’s or Sals.
Each time I go to Goldings, we tend to order a pizza from here. It’s cool, if you order from Goldings they’ll deliver it to you there. No extra charge. They don’t have a specific vegan pizza but you can modify them to be vegan. Proper pizza ovens create light, thin base, fresh toppings. Love it. Perfect match with one of the beers. Staff are friendly and helpful too.
My cousin and I shared a few takeaway pizzas from this place. The menu was pretty small, but the pizzas were all high quality. The one with truffle and mushroom was incredible, and I'd happily make a point of ordering it again if I ever go back Wellington. As a nice surprise, the tiramisu was one of the nicest I've had - not too sweet and not too creamy.
Pizza so good my vegan friend ate so much of it that my non vegan friend looked at her hatefully -- and still brings it up. Never let me down, not gone let me down.
Delicious authentic pizza that you can customize as you like. They use fresh ingredients and arrange your pizza in front of you.
Great service and friendly staff.
Excellent thin crust pizza from a place which has been there forever. The only Italian I know likes it so that's a pretty good endorsement. There's only a small area for eating so takeaway recommended

Pizza Pomodoro is definitely my favorite pizza in Wellington!
I tried bufalina, which is a normal margherita pizza with additional buffalo mozzarella and carne, which is tomato based with meat toppings.
Both were delicious and crust is crispy.
You have to try their tiramisu, it's a game changer!
My absolute favourite pizza in wellington! Although the base is quite soft around the crust, the flavour from the woodfire is incredible. I always get the vegetable pizza with added garlic and no cheese - it doesn't even need it! The tomato base has so much flavour. Super quick home delivery too :)
The best pizza in Wellington!
I love how you can get it at Goldings and they'll walk it over for you.
Best crust - so nice and soft! The pizza is quite floppy so I like to roll it up from the centre to the crust and eat it like that.
Def enjoyed best at home in your undies while you watch your tv show of choice. I can't remember what it was called but the one with potato on it is amazing!
Wellington’s pickiest pizza fan from NYC here: This is the best pizza in the city that I’ve found so far. The winning ingredient is the crust which rivals NYC’s best. It’s soft, chewy and charred just right. It’s a little to thin to support the more ambitious pies with lots of heavy ingredients on them, but you just scoop the stuff up and eat it anyway.
Be warned, though, as Pizza Pomodoro only has a couple tiny tables that are really only suited for two people each. I somehow squished my family of four at one of the tables as the fellas at the next table gave us their spare stool, but it’s tight. This is really a good take-away place, so if you plan accordingly you’ll likely have a better experience (bringing it home). 🍕
I was desperate for a pizza, (I hadn't had a pizza in at least two months)
While I did not dine in, the decor and design was a modern twist on an classic Italian, with a neon sign for instance.
31 dollars, In my opinion is quite pricey for a pizza so I was sceptical it would justify the price.
While it was very good, it didn't quite justify the price for me.
The tomato sauce was lacking in flavour in my opinion, not any rich, tangy flavours, nothing really too special.
The mozzarella, while not bad quality, was exactly like the tomato in the sense of being good quality but not being that bit better.
The "Rocket" supposed to be on the pizza was more a salad mix rather than just rocket, not really adding that peppery, fresh kick that just having rocket would.
Where the pizza picks up in it's points is the stone baked base (a stone baked pizza always is a big pro for me.)
The whole pizza was charred just enough, the crust being not too doughy with just a slight crisp to it.
The balsamic glaze paired particularly well with the parma ham, the sweet tang complementing with the rich, salty ham perfectly.
Would I come here again?
Yes, but I would pick something different.
This place has truly brought us back to Napoli.
Pizzas are made fresh in wood-fired oven. We had the Margherita and Bufalina. Both were so delicious that we had to go back the day after! I would not expect less as Pizza Pomodoro is certified by AVPN aka “The True Neapolitan Pizza Association” (so far, only 3 are certified in NZ!).
The place has a couple of tables that are really only suited for two people each but you can also find their menu at the nearby Goldings Free Dive Bar.
Tip: You can order half and half pizza if you’re torn between two pizza flavours!
Small outlet but awesome pizzas. Two tables to dine in at or else takeaway. Pizza made fresh from scratch and tastes gr8. Pricey but worth the experience.
Very well done Neapolitan Pizza.. just like in Naples ✨
THE absolute best Pizza in the Wellington Region, rounded off with a delicious pistachio tiramisu. It’s a take out place rather than a sit in. 2 small tables are on site though.
amazing place! if you want to eat the best pizza in New Zealand - this is the one you should definitely try. authentic Italian pizza, handmade in front of you and wood-fried in the oven. 10/10!
Best pizza in Wellington! Definitely worth a visit but there is limited seating inside. So you might be better ordering it to take away 🍕
Good quality and reasonable price for pizza margherita at lunch. I had the pizza two years ago, not sure whether they still have it or not, and if so, O strongly recommend their lunch special! Only 10 bucks for a medium sized pizza!
You know I can’t take this whole pizza photo, Take the pizza and just go straight into my mouth. You must try it when warm
The dough was so glutenous and savory. Also It is a woodfire pizza, these reason make me be a huge fan of Pomodoro Pizza.
I really wanted to try Italian(Napoli st) pizza, ya it is, exactly it is. It make me satisfy, really love it, but the dough is little bit thin as I am thinking.
Whatever, you should try variety Pomodoro pizza
